FAQs

Q: Do you use A.I. to create your art?

A: In the past, this has been presented to me in the form of an accusation, rather than a question, but the query behind both remains the same. The answer is no. I spend many hours, weeks, and months, creating my artwork. I am a digital artist, yes, but my work is created all by hand, completely from scratch. Furthermore, I adore every second of the process of creating my art, and while in today’s day and age, it’s a perfectly valid thing to ask, it is a curiosity that does tend to sting sometimes.

Q: Do you use references?

A: I do. Most (if not all), artists use references, if I’m being completely honest. It’s difficult trying to remember how something looks off the top of your head, so they’re needed sometimes. Whether that’s an inanimate object, or a specific pose you’re after, references are completely normal, and I do use them from time to time. Tracing someone else’s artwork or photo is wrong, though. I don’t do that, if that’s what you have in mind.

Q: How did you find your art style, and how can I find mine?

A: Honestly, as corny as it might sound, you don’t find your art style. I definitely didn’t. You shouldn’t worry and push yourself to find something that honestly, given enough time and practice, will find you eventually. You’ll find that the more time you spend doing art, the more you’ll lean into a certain type naturally. Your personal art style will bloom from that. Genuinely, the best advice I can give you it to just keep doing art. It’s not something you can rush or force yourself into.

Q: Are you LGBT friendly?

A: Absolutely! I would like to think I’ve made it pretty clear with my art and website already. It would be pretty hard not to be, since I’m a part of the community anyway. However, in case you need it explicitly said: I’m gay/lesbian, and I use she/they pronouns. You are safe here.
